Paddy is progressing nicely and we hope to have him on the road as soon as possible. As you can imagine, turning a van into a fully accessible camper is quite a challenge and we are taking the time to make sure that everything is perfect before we release him into the great unknown! When the work is complete, Paddy should have all of the specifications that you see below.
Hi, I’m Paddy! I’m a Peugeot Boxer L4 H3, born in 2021 and the largest of my type. However don’t worry; I weigh under 3.5 tonnes so you can drive me on a standard licence. I love exploring our great countryside and am equipped with everything you need to make this happen. I have 4 seatbelts with room for a wheelchair
I have enough room to sleep 3 people, with a double bed and a single, which both fold away easily. The double bed is height adjustable so you can transfer or hoist. The hoist can transfer you anywhere in the van making it easy to access the toilet and commode/shower chair (no need to dig a hole!)
I have solar panels, batteries and gas. I also have electric hook-up, so whether you’re in the wild or staying at one of the many camp sites, I have all of your power needs covered. With a fully fitted kitchen, water tanks, hot water and heating, you will be comfortable just about anywhere.
My boss, Sam James has a large chair himself and to avoid him feeling like a bull in a china shop and because I don’t want him bashing me about, we have made sure that as many things as possible can be folded away so that there is turning space even for a power chair during the day.
I come equipped with a tablet where you’ll be able to access loads of apps regarding places you can stay overnight, free parking, wild sites and camping plus loads of other helpful apps to assist you on your trip. Also on the tablet, there are helpful videos to help you navigate the technical parts of the van, from using the lift, understanding the water and electrical systems, putting up the beds and emergency lift instructions. You will also be able to find these videos on our YouTube page as well as a wheel around tour of the van.
