East Midlands

The rolling landscape of the East Midlands were England’s traditional ‘hunting’ counties and many of the key battles of the English Civil War were fought here.

The countryside in northern Nottinghamshire holds several attractions, the best-known being the Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve. This is supposedly where Robin Hood did some canoodling with Maid Marian. The impressive Chatsworth Estate, set in over 100 acres has stunning gardens in addition to one of Europe’s most significant art collections.

At theTropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park, you can meet lemurs, meerkats, owls, otters, snakes, and other amazing animals during unforgettable animal encounters throughout the day. You can also experience spectacular displays featuring free-flying birds of prey, parrots and charismatic mammals.

From high, moorland plateaus to steep-sided deep dales and rolling green hills, the Peak District and Derbyshire has just about any landscape you can imagine in Britain. Couple the fantastic scenery and parkland with amazing local food and drink and the Peak District will surely become one of your favourite destinations.
