East Anglia

From the almost 1000-year-old cathedral to a famous owl and raptor sanctuary, you can find something for everyone from the abundance of attractions available in this beautiful part of the country. There’s the peace and tranquillity of the unique Norfolk Broads, contrasted by the noise and excitement of one of the country’s leading motor racing circuits at Snetterton. If you enjoy horse racing maybe consider a day out at Newmarket which hosts two of the five classic races and has great accessibility.

Founded in 1096 and built using Normandy stone shipped from Caen, Norwich Cathedral is set in the 44-acre Cathedral Close, a peaceful city centre sanctuary. The Cathedral itself is rich in history and has the highest Norman tower and largest monastic cloisters in England.

Discover the Broads National Park – dramatic landscapes, raw natural beauty and a rare quality of light. Where big, bright skies meet endless horizons and dreamlike landscapes. A place where time stands still. Real peace, open space – it’s a place unlike anywhere else.

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns and the Hawk and Owl Trust at Sculthorpe are delightful places to visit if you enjoy the company of owls and other birds of prey. Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve is one of the country’s most accessible nature reserves and is just a few yards away from the Trust.
