South Coast

With millions of acres of natural beauty to explore, Southern England is arguably the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors. There are two National Parks offering natural wonders and glorious gardens. These areas have been recognised for their exceptional landscape, character and natural beauty. They include the North Wessex Downs, the Chiltern Hills, the Surrey Hills and Chichester Harbour. All are prized enough to be protected for the enjoyment of everyone. Is there a better place to enjoy the English countryside?

Both national parks have an excellent selection of sights and spectacular views; Devils Dyke and Beachy Head among them. This area also benefits from nine areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), recognised for their exceptional landscape, character and natural beauty.

The AONBs in this part of the country include; the North Wessex Downs, the Chiltern Hills, High Weald, the Kent Downs, Surrey Hills and Chichester Harbour in Sussex. All are prized enough to be protected for the enjoyment of everyone.

A varied terrain includes dramatic coastline with heritage status, nature reserves, woodlands, chalk hills and stunning views that’ll test the memory of any smartphone camera. Southern England’s countryside also includes leafy Surrey, near London where Newlands Corner, Box Hill and Leith Hill all offer outstanding viewpoints around Guildford.
